Community Partnerships

Linwood Avenue School is fortunate to have a range of community groups and agencies who work with us to support our families, children's learning and development. These include:
The Government and other social agencies provide additional support to help children’s learning and development.  We use their services regularly.  Some will also work with families.  

This includes:
  • Our Social Worker in School
  • Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour
  • Resource Teacher of Literacy
  • Public Health Nurse
  • Special Education Service
  • Police Youth Aid 
  • Oranga Tamariki
  • Mana Ake

Police

The police participate in some of our community events, support Health programmes such as "Keeping Ourselves Safe" and get alongside the children at school on occasions, eg lunch time sausage sizzle.

Sports Clubs

The Canterbury Rams basketball team, Canterbury Rugby and Linwood Rugby League all support children involvement in sport and provide some after school coaching on occasions.

Youthtown

Presently operates at Eastgate Mall but children are uplifted by Youthtown staff at the end of the school day, with pickups from Eastgate Mall up until 5:30pm.
